Actress Janet Hubert…aka ‘Aunt Viv’The black one from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air took to Facebook to BLAST Jada Pinkett and Will Smith over Jada’s call to boycott the Oscars.  This is interesting it seems this beef started twenty umm? 27 years ago.  When Will Smith was approached to boycott the show since he was the highest paying star. Smith basically said he had nothing to do with his payment as long as he got his coins. Well fast forward 27 years later

It’s no secret that Janet and The Smiths have had bad blood for years, but baby Janet decided to make her thoughts on THIS particular matter known.

She starts off:

“First of all, Miss Thing. Does your man not have a mouth of his own with which to speak? And, the second thing is — girlfriend, there are a lot of shit going in the world that you all don’t seem to recognize. People are dying, our boys are being shot left and right, people are hungry, people are starving, people are trying to pay bills — and you’re talking about some muh-fuckin’ actors uh…and…Oscars.

And here’s the other thing. For you to ask other actors and other ‘blacktresses’ and black actors to jeopardize their career and their standing in a town you know damn well you don’t do that. And, here’s the other thing — they don’t care. They don’t care!

I find it ironic that somebody who has made their living and has made millions and millions of dollars from the very people that you’re talking about boycotting just because you didn’t get a nomination, just because you didn’t win? That’s not the way life works, baby. Okay? And it’s very suspect to me.”

NEWSFLASH! Georgia will be the first state to implement a school based totally on sexual orientation and gender identity.

A first-of-its-kind private school in Georgia aimed at attracting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and teachers is being established in Atlanta for students who feel bullied or not accepted in traditional schools.

To Pride School Atlanta is a k-12 institution designed to be an alternative for LGBT students, though the school is open to any student who believes they’re not getting the support they need for “being different,” says Pride School founder Christian Zsilavetz.

“Kids have full permission to be themselves — as well as educators. Where there’s no wondering, ‘Is this teacher going to be a person for me to be myself with?'” said Zsilavetz, who is transgender and a veteran teacher with nearly 25 years of experience.

“This is a place where they (students) can just open up and be the best person they can be.”

According to the AJC, Pride School will initially operate out of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta church and is expected to open by September 2016.

Tuition will be around $13,000, though Zsilavetz says financial assistance is available for students who need it.

It is part of a small but growing group of schools popping up nationally geared toward educating LGBT youth, who feel disenfranchised from public education. Pride School would be the first of its kind in the Southeast and, according to gay rights advocates, a significant development for the LGBT movement.

“There’s a number of kids who come from the South … migrating to places like New York and other cities because they feel like it’s more tolerant for them,” said Ross Murray, programs director, global and U.S. South, for gay rights group GLAAD.

Jada Pinkett Smith posted a motivational video about knowing your worth.  At the end of  the video she told her fans she will not be attending or watching the Oscars.  Spike Lee aslo joined today. Take a trip down memory lane.  Few months ago during the BET Awards. African Artists boycotted about not being able to accept their awards on the same stage as other American Artists.  The African Artists such as Wizkid,  Yemi Alade, Dencia and many Artists felt that BET officials needed to respect their craft and award them on stage instead of hosting a pre show.  What are you're thoughts? 

Blacks should respect blacks then non blacks will follow.

Liv, a rapper who tabloids like to speculate is Jay Z’s mistress, has joined the chorus of gossip magazines and anonymous sources claiming Beyoncé and Jay Z are on the rocks by releasing “Sorry Mrs. Carter,” a song disputing the allegations but still apologizing to Beyoncé. It remains somewhat unclear what exactly she’s apologizing to Beyoncé for. Not sleeping with her husband? Jay Z’s supposed bad behavior with other women? This song’s quality, maybe?

Officials working to prevent fears the Ebola virus will spread in U.S.

An American physician who fell ill with the deadly Ebola virus while treating others afflicted in West Africa was transferred amid high security Saturday to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, according to the hospital.

The gray air ambulance carrying Dr. Kent Brantly landed at Dobbins Air Reserve Base outside Atlanta at about 11:30 a.m. EDT and was met by a specially outfitted ambulance, which whisked him to the hospital for treatment in an isolated ward.

Upon arrival at the hospital about 12:30 p.m., a person wearing white, hooded, protective gear helped another individual in protective gear out of the back of the ambulance and through a hospital backdoor, according to live footage of the arrival from WXIA-TV in Atlanta.
The ambulance left and TV news cameras did not capture anyone else exiting the vehicle, though it was unclear whether one of the individuals in protective gear was Brantly.
His dramatic journey was set in motion early this week, when Samaritan’s Purse, the aid agency Brantly was working with in West Africa, asked Emory to receive Brantly and another American aid worker who became infected, Nancy Writebol. His plane left Liberia overnight.

 

 

 

Emory, one of four facilities in the country that have an isolation chamber designed to care for highly contagious, critically ill patients, agreed to care for both the victims.

The hospital said in a statement that it expects Writebol would be transferred to the facility the week of Aug. 3. Writebol was working for SIM, a Christian aid group, when she fell ill.
“We thank God that they are alive and now have access to the best care in the world,” Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, said in a statement Saturday.

Officials have been working to prevent any public fears of Ebola spreading among the U.S. population, and at a news conference Friday, Dr. Bruce Ribner, an infectious disease specialist who oversees Emory’s isolation ward, said the precautions being taken virtually guaranteed there would be no secondary infections from Ebola in this country.

“The bottom line is, we have an inordinate amount of safety associated with this patient,” Ribner said when discussing the arrival of Brantly.
The Ebola outbreak has killed more than 720 people in West Africa and has a mortality rate of at least 60%. There is no cure or vaccine, but doctors at Emory say they are “cautiously optimistic” that with proper care and close monitoring they can successfully treat Brantly and Writebol.

World health officials, meanwhile, have warned that the outbreak is spreading out of control in Africa.

On Friday the top health official with the United Nations pledged to release $100 million in funding to deploy hundreds of medical staffers to fight the virus.
